Monte Rio is nicknamed "Vacation Wonderland," and for good reason. It, and the towns that surround it, are a mecca of relaxation, fun, and connection with people you love and all kinds of nature. Check out our "Where to Stay" and "Things to Do" tabs for tons of ideas.

Days are hot (84F) and nights are cool (49F) in the Russian River area in August. Temperatures along the coast and in locales like Monte Rio and Cazadero are several degrees cooler, while Healdsburg is a little hotter.

We have a shuttle pick-up and drop-off for guests who are in the nearby vicinity so they do not have to drive, courtesy of the Popper family. Please keep your eyes peeled for the shuttle pick-up schedule. Since there are few enough people driving, we have room for everyone to park at the ceremony and reception site parking lots. In the unlikely event that we run out of spaces, you may park for free in the upper parking lot of the Monte Rio Community Center, which is about 2 blocks from the reception venue. **Do not park in the lower lot of the Community Center, as the gate is locked at sunset.** Here is the Monte Rio Community Center's address: 20488 CA-116, Monte Rio, CA 95462

We have hired shuttles to transport people to/from the Monte Rio Community Center to the ceremony and the reception venues. The shuttles may also be able to pick folks up at their accommodation and then drop them off if arrangements are made ahead of time. Please our "Getting Around" section at the bottom of the "Travel" tab for information on taxis, parking, rideshares, etc. Cell phone reception is limited in Monte Rio, so bookmark the taxi number.

Cocktail attire, which is dressier than casual but not quite formal, so pick something you feel great in that is also comfortable for being outdoors. The most important thing we encourage is footwear appropriate for some uneven grass and a warm layer for the chilly evenings.

The Russian River area is an amazing vacation place for families! Your children are welcome to join us at all our wedding events apart from the unofficial wedding after party the night of 8/10.

Since there are no large hotels near Monte Rio, hotel blocks were unavailable to us. You'll find lots of information on places to stay and how to book in our "Where to Stay" tab, with recommendations for different budgets.

The ceremony site has a grass field to walk across, which has a very slight slope on one side. We are renting a golf cart to help guests with accessibility issues across the field. The reception property is mostly flat, with one ~50' gradually sloped (paved) path leading from the parking lot to the reception area. We are checking to see if the bathrooms are accessible for wheelchairs.
