Staying in the local area -- Monte Rio, Guerneville, Occidental, or Cazadero -- is a great way to maximize time together, so we've included a list of recommendations within that vicinity. If you'd like to stay outside of the local area, there are lots of options, but we've only explored the places listed on our "Things to Do" tab.
For people who want walkability to and from our venue and/or a quiet atmosphere, we recommend Monte Rio. It's a small town with minimal dining, but there are a range of reasonably priced hotels and rentals in this area. Most of the town's amenities are in close proximity to the bridge.
Inn on the Russian River ($$) This is our wedding reception venue, and we have rooms reserved for Friday and Saturday night for wedding party members.
Highland Dell Lodge ($$) Just across the river from the Inn (10 minute walk) is the Highland Dell Lodge, which is a well kept lodge with a private dock, German restaurant (free breakfast) and friendly proprietor name Herb.
Boho Manor ($$-$$$) A few doors down from the Highland Dell Lodge is Boho Manor, which is an eclectic hotel and bar styled after a 1930’s speakeasy. It features some nice outdoor lounging areas and a private river dock.
Casa Secoya ($$) Approximately one mile towards Guerneville, this little resort features a large pool that is a adjacent to the Northwoods Golf Course. The rooms have a mid-century modern vibe. This is a good option for those who think river water is icky. Please don’t walk the road between the Inn and Casa Secoya at night!
Not recommended: River View Garden Resort
Guerneville is bigger than Monte Rio (but still small), and somewhat rustic, but it's a good choice for folks who want nearby food and nightlife options and/or those who prefer higher-end hotels. This town can be a little warmer than the surrounding area, so you may want to look for hotels/rentals with AC.
Dawn Ranch ($$$$) This 22-acre resort is one of the nicest in the area and offers of range of different accommodation options. It is also walkable to the main commercial strip of Guerneville.
The Stavrand ($$$$) The Stavrand is a beautiful resort located in a more remote section of Guerneville.
Boon Hotel + Spa ($$$) This adults-only resort and spa is hip and highly rated. It is walkable to downtown Guerneville.
Autocamp Russian River ($$) Highly rated glamping, if you are into that.
Surrey Resort ($$) Another glamping option located slightly closer to town.
The Rio Nido Lodge ($$) Two miles up the road from Guerneville, this funky lodge features a range of unique rooms. There is an open air bar and music venue right in front of the lodge. Booking are through AirBNB.
West Sonoma Inn and Spa ($$) Adjacent to downtown Guerneville with a pool and vineyard view.
Other nearby options:
Occidental Lodge ($-$$) A 1970's style motor inn featuring a large pool in the heart of the redwood forests.
River's End ($$$)The place for epic ocean views and high-end dining.
Sonoma Canopy Tours ($$$) Looking to feel like an Ewok on Endor? Check out this very unique treehouse lodge.
AirBnB/VRBO Rentals ($$-$$$) - Click this link to view a spreadsheet we put together of rentals.
There are plenty of options in and around Monte Rio, including riverfront homes with BBQs and private docks! VRBO has very good cancellation terms if you'd like to book now and decide on attendance later.
